UCGEC China Business Trip Invitation

Invitation to the UCGEC China Business Trip

To Whom It May Concern:

We are honored to invite you to join the UCGEC business delegation to China, August 31 – Sept 9, 2009, led by the UCGEC Chairman Robert Wu and/or President Bob Larson. The delegation will attend Chengdu New Energy Int’l Forum & Solar Energy Fair 2009 and visit Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi’an, Nanjing, Yangzhou, and other Shanghai’s surrounding cities. The delegation will meet governors, mayors and other senior local government officials, and visit leading new energy companies and development zones in China.

China and the United States have reached a consensus on the importance of renewable energy. U.S. President Barack Obama has pledged that the U.S. will invest $150 billion in alternative energy over the next few years. In China, the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” mandates an increase in overall consumption of alternative energy sources from 2.5% to 10% by 2010. As a consequence, the alternative energy market in China will reach USD $200 billion by 2010. The Chinese government recently rolled out the implementation of the solar roof system and incentive policies, indicating a genuine launch of solar energy applications in the Chinese market. China has also decided to invest additional USD $400 billion stimulus money into the new energy sector. This is an amazing market with countless opportunities, which you cannot miss!

To future enhance our connections and facilitate green energy collaborations, the UCGEC is organizing two delegations in the next three months. The first delegation will visit Washington DC July 27-30, with support from UCGEC Honorary Chairman, Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee, and U.S. Congressman Mike Honda. The delegation will meet with over 20 congresspersons, senators, and cabinet members from the Obama Administration regarding energy and climate change. The second UCGEC delegation will visit China August 31 – Sept 9. Our focus areas are renewable energy (solar, wind, bio fuel), smart grid, electric vehicle, power battery, green building, low carbon city, etc. The objectives of this business trip are to:

  • Help UCGEC member companies and individuals create business relationships, explore new markets, find partners, and identify investment opportunities in China.
  • Further enhance the UCGEC’s strong connections with the Chinese local governments.
  • Exchange thoughts with the top Chinese officials and executives on the US-China cleantech collaboration.
  • Explore opportunities for the UCGEC and its members to collaborate with host cities on cleantech R&D, business, and investment.

Please contact the delegation lead Mrs. Xiaofeng Zhang (xzhang123@yahoo.com) soon if you are interested. The final registration is due on July 31, 2009. We sincerely hope you can join this UCGEC delegation to China.

Thank you!

Yours truly,

Robert Wu, Chairman, and Bob Larson, President
US-China Green Energy Council
