Yu, Oliver 余序江

Dr. Oliver Yu,  the STARS Group, a premier strategy consulting firm, is an internationally recognized expert on technology and resource strategy planning and analysis.  Prior to founding the STARS Group in 2000, he was for 11 years the Director of Energy and Technology Strategies at SRI International, managing numerous large projects on technology and resource strategies throughout the world, and serving as a senior advisor to the Vice Chairman of Commonwealth Edison in Chicago, the Chairman of Taiwan Power Company, the Energy Minister of China, and the President of Philippines.  Before joining SRI in 1989, Dr. Yu was for 15 years the Manager of Planning Analysis at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), responsible for energy industry analysis and EPRI-wide technology research planning. 

Dr. Yu has been invited to make technical presentations at many research institutions and professional conferences around the world, including most recently, an energy strategy seminar at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a power wheeling tariff seminar for the State Grid Corporation of China in 2006, two smart grid seminars for Schneider-China and Taiwan Power Company respectively in 2007, as well as chairing the smart grid panel at the 2008 US-China Green Energy Conference and the power technology development & investment panel at the 2009 Asia-Pacific Electricity Supply Industry CEO Conference.

Dr. Yu holds a BSEE from National Taiwan University, an MSEE from Georgia Tech, and an MS in statistics and a PhD in Operations Research from Stanford University.  He has published over 70 professional papers and authored and co-authored 5 technical books, including Technology Portfolio Planning and Management, Springer 2006, and Technology Management and Forecasting, Tsinghua University Press 2008. 

余序江博士The Stars集团总裁，为首屈一指的战略咨询公司，国际上公认的技术和资源战略规划和分析方面的专家。余博士在2000年创建STARS集团前，是SRI国际能源和技术策略总监，在11年任期内管理了无数全球范围内大项目的技术和资源战略，並担任芝加哥联邦爱迪生副主席、台湾电力公司主席、中国能源局、和菲律宾总统的高级顾问。1989年參加SRI前，他在电力科学院(EPRI)負責规划分析15年，负责能源工业分析和EPRI技术研究的规划。余教授经常应邀去全球的不同科研單位和专业讨论会作报告；包括2006年中国科学院能源战略研讨会、国电电力过网电价研讨会、2007年Schneider中国电力和台湾电力公司的分别两次智能电网讨论会，並担任2008年美中绿色能源论坛智能电网专题组、2009年亚太地区电力工业行政总裁会议电源技术的发展及投资小组的主持人。

余博士毕业于国立台湾大学电机工程系，乔治亚理工学院电机工程硕士，斯坦福大学管运筹学博士, 统计学硕士。发表过70余篇专业论文，撰写并合作撰写 了5本技术书籍，包括2006年Springer出版的《技术组合规划与管理》（英文），和2008年清华大学出版的《技术管理与预测》等。
