Pickering, Jonathan

Jonathan Pickering is the VP of Global Marketing and Business Development for the Solar Business Group at Applied Materials. Jonathan joined Applied Materials in 1989 and has held management positions in engineering, product management, business management and marketing in many of the key business units at Applied Materials. In 2007, Jonathan joined the solar group to lead the business development organization and was instrumental in the acquisition and integration of several crystalline silicon (c-Si) solar equipment companies. For the last year, Jonathan was responsible for global marketing for the solar business group for both the thin film and c-Si products. Jonathan completed his undergraduate work in the UK with work experience at the Max Planck Institute in Stuttgart. He holds a Masters of Engineering degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Materials Science with thesis work and publications on silicon defects. Jonathan also holds several patents on CVD deposition technology.
