Mart Bailey is Founder and Managing Partner of Callaway Venture Partners. In an effort to improve the quality of life for people suffering from debilitating diseases, Callaway Venture Partners is committed to transforming healthcare through innovation, and invests in visionary life sciences companies in China and the US. Mr. Bailey previously founded Callaway Private Equity Partners in 2000 to serve the private financing needs of emerging growth companies. The firm raised over $250 million in venture capital and private equity transactions. Mr. Bailey and his Callaway family have created a lot of value as entrepreneurs in various industries including healthcare, life sciences, textiles, chemicals, water, wine, resorts, and golf. He graduated from UC Berkeley and Beijing University, majoring in Asian Studies. Mr. Bailey serves on the Boards of the Berkeley China Initiative (BCI) and the Berkeley Chinese Alumni International Association (BCAIA), for whom he helped found the 2007 Berkeley China Healthcare Innovation Conference at Fudan University, and the 2008 US-China Green Energy Conference Series in San Francisco, Shanghai, and Beijing.
