Wu, David 吴振伟
Congressman
the U.S House of Representatives
Congressman David Wu (D-OR) is a member of the United States House of Representatives. In the House, Congressman Wu serves on the Science and Technology Committee, where he is Chairman of the Subcommittee on Technology and Innovation. The Committee has jurisdiction over research and technology policy, including policy, green transportation solutions and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The Subcommittee has jurisdiction over the National Institute of Standards and Technology, which sets standards and supports research for energy efficiency. Congressman Wu also serves on the Education and Labor Committee, which has jurisdiction over education policy and works with higher educations research institutions. Because of Congressman Wu's knowledge of and interest in international policy, he also serves on the Foreign Affairs Committee. Congressman Wu is the first and only Chinese-American to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives. He currently is a member of the executive board for the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus and served as chair from January 2001 to January 2004. Congressman Wu is also a member of the New Democrat Coalition (NDC), a group of moderate Democrats in the House.
